David Brazier, regional director for Camra in the North East, said the prices supermarkets were able to charge put pubs at a disadvantage. Not only are recessed lights beneficial aesthetically, but they are practical as well. Recessed lights are great for those who require sufficient light in order to read or do other work that may require a lot of visibility. When furniture is placed directly under recessed lights, the visibility greatly improves and can help those to focus and maintain their eyesight.Mintel's research found young drinkers were opting to stay at home more than ever.IT'S last orders in the last chance saloon for the traditional back street boozer Times are hard and the price of a pint means the queue for many bars is far from crowded. He said: "It's not a level playing field when in a supermarket you can get six cans for pounds 3 but in a pub, even on Tyneside, you're now paying around pounds 3 for a pint."Pubs should have more freedom in terms of who they buy their drink from. We have some 27 independent breweries in the North East and they should be able to use them."The study showed more than half of 18 to 24-year-olds celebrated at home with a drink on special occasions rather than heading for the pub.
